Chainsaw Man Painting
Digital painting I did of Chainsaw Man. The main brush I used was "Larapuna", one of the default Procreate brushes.
sketching the body
adding details to the sketch
blocking out the colours
adding shadows
adding more shadows and darkening the ones already there to create more contrast so the painting doesn't feel flat
I needed to change the pose so I did. More details added to the painting
Further refinement and more imperfections added to make the image a bit more lifelike.
Ambient occlusion and glow on the highlights added with a softbrush. The highlights were created using a colour dodge layer — all this was to increase contrast which makes the painting pop more and feel less flat.
Smoke from his mouth. Final adjustments were done in Adobe Lightroom. Also the insta handle was an old (but still active) account I wanna move away from.
